Applicants applying for places for September 2019 onwards will be considered using the admissions criteria within these policies.

If you would like to apply for a school place online, please CLICK HERE to take you to the Cambridgeshire admissions information page.  This will tell you all you need to know about applying for a place at the start of an academic year and also about in-year applications (moving schools mid year).

We work closely with Cambridgeshire LA who manage the admissions and waiting lists on our behalf.

Area served by the School

The area of Wisbech enclosed in the west by the east side of Churchill Road and Elm High Road; in the south and east by the Norfolk border; and in the north Lynn Road even numbers to 96, to the junction of Clarkson Avenue, Clarkson Avenue, Staithe Road and Stow Road numbers 81 and upwards.

Eligibility

Children will be admitted into a Reception class in the September following their fourth birthday.

Attendance at a partner Junior School

Parents whose children are attending infant schools must apply for a place in Year 3 at a junior or primary school. If your child has been attending an infant school and is applying for a place at the partner junior school, this will be taken into account as part of the over subscription criteria.

However, attendance at a particular infant school does not guarantee entry into the partner junior school.

Nursery (Little Owls) Admissions

It is our intention to make Little Owls accessible to children and families from all sections of the local community.  When more applications are received than places available, places will be allocated in accordance with the following over-subscription criteria:

  1. Children who are looked after.
  2. Children eligible for the 2 year old funding scheme, children with a high level of need or those having been referred by a Social Worker, Health Professional, Pre-school Specialist Support Teacher, Special Needs Officer or the Traveller Referral Team.
  3. Children with a sibling already attending Little Owls.
  4. Children requiring full time provision where spaces allow.
  5. Children requiring 20 hours or more where spaces allow.
  6. First come, first served.

Where places cannot be allocated, your child’s details will be added to our waiting list.  This will be arranged in strict order of the admissions criteria, not according to the date of the application.

PLEASE NOTE : A place in Nursery does not guarantee a place for your child in our Reception Classes.
A place in Year 2 does not guarantee a place for your child in our Year 3 Classes.  Our admissions are managed by the Local Authority (Cambs County Council) so please contact them regarding admission arrangements.

School will inform you when applications are needed to be submitted.  We are happy to offer help to complete the relevant forms – please just come to the school office.
