School Meals
The universal infant free school scheme entitles any child in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 to a free hot meal in the middle of the day.
From September 2025 the cost of a school meal for children in Years 3-6 is £2.61 per day.
Our meals are provided by Dolce. Parents log into their 'SchoolGrid' account and choose the meals for their children. This can be done weekly, monthly or half termly. Payment is taken for these meals at the same time.
If your child has a special dietary requirement (such as an intolerance or religious grounds) this is added when you make their school meal account. The meals provided will then conform to the dietary restrictions.

Our children are served by our dedicated catering team, led by Mrs Fowler. All meals are designed to be highly nutritious and children are supported and encouraged, to be as independent as possible, by collecting cutlery along with their meal and to clear away after eating.
If you are in receipt of certain benefits such as those listed below, you may be entitled to free school meals for your child/children:
Universal Credit (up to £7400 net earned income)
Income Support
Income based Job Seeker's Allowance
Income related Employment and Support Allowance
Working Tax Credit run-on
Child Tax Credit (income less than £16190 per annum)
If you think you meet any of the above criteria, come into the Ramnoth School office and we can check for you.
The children may also bring a packed lunch from home if this is preferred to a hot school meal.
The Schools Fruit & Veg Scheme, who provide the daily snack for our infant children joined forces with ‘Veg Power’ to promote the consumption of vegetables in schools.
As part of Veg Power’s ongoing mission to encourage the UK to eat more veg, they would like to make it easier for parents and carers to add more veg to their children’s lunchboxes. They have developed ‘60 Second Lunchbox Hacks’ - see below!
