School Meals

The universal infant free school scheme entitles any child in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 to a free hot meal in the middle of the day.

The cost of a school meal for children in Years 3-6  is £2.40 per day – £12.00 per week. These are payable through ParentPay, our online payment service and we ask that meals are paid for in advance.

Our meals are provided by Taylor Shaw, who use responsibly sourced fresh and local produce to provide our children with an exciting menu, tailored to their tastes and dietary requirements.

Taylor Shaw invented 'Team FAB4', superhero mascots that champion food education and use their food superpowers to bring food to life, to encourage children to try different foods and to understand where food comes from and why it is good for them to eat!

Our children are served by our dedicated catering team, led by Mrs Louise Fowler, who pride themselves on a truly personal service that is compliant and nutritious, backed by the team of Taylor Shaw dieticians.

All meals are designed to be highly nutritious and there is a choice of food everyday.  Children are supported, but encouraged, to be as independent as possible, by collecting cutlery along with their meal and to clear away after eating.

If your child has a special dietary requirement, you will need to complete our special diet request form and provide a letter from the GP confirming the dietary restriction. We can then inform Taylor Shaw who will create a menu for your child that conforms to the dietary restrictions.  If however, your child has other dietary requirements, say on religious grounds, then please put this on the admission form and we will liaise with the catering team to ensure their needs are met.

The children may also bring a packed lunch from home if this is preferred to a hot school meal.

If a debt of more than 5 days is accrued, we ask that your child brings a packed lunch to school until the debt is cleared.

The Schools Fruit & Veg Scheme, who provide the daily snack for our infant children joined forces with ‘Veg Power’ to promote the consumption of vegetables in schools.

As part of Veg Power’s ongoing mission to encourage the UK to eat more veg, they would like to make it easier for parents and carers to add more veg to their children’s lunchboxes.  They have developed a ‘60 Second Lunchbox Hacks’ PDF. It features easy to implement ideas and serves to make this task as simple as possible!  Click on the button below for access:
